What is Global Hack Week: Share 2022?

Global Hack Week: Share (formely known as Local Hack Day: Share) is your opportunity to spend a week focused celebrating all you've accomplished in the 2022 Hackathon Season. Dust off projects you've built throughout the season, prepare to build some new ones, and most importantly, get ready to share what you've learned!

You are in for an adventure featuring workshops, fun mini-events, challenges, panels, and more. These will help you to earn experience points no matter what level of hacking you are at, whether it’s writing your first lines of code or creating a multi-faceted project.

We'll have challenges, live technical sessions with MLHers, mini-events galore, and some cool content from our partners! Here’s a sneak peek:

  • Beginner-friendly workshops

  • Challenges for all difficulty levels and all topics such as design, social, technical, entrepreneurial

  • Hacker-run guilds

  • Talks from friends of MLH and our partners

  • Live sessions run by MLHers

  • And maybe an appearance from Totally Not Ryan (TNR)

Yes, of course! GHW: Share will feature some amazing 2022 Hackathon Season swag…you’ll have to participate to find out exactly what you’re getting! 

What is a Guild? How can I be a part of it?

One of the best parts of our community is that it allows people to meet and make connections with others, regardless of where you live. guilds are smaller communities within Major League Hacking. Whether you come in with a guild or not, you won’t be hacking alone.

Who organized Global Hack Week?

Global Hack Week is organized by Major League Hacking (MLH). It is our mission to empower hackers worldwide by providing them with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed.

Your challenge submission must be completed within the submission period.

When relevent, your code must be available in some sort of public repository. 

If you're continuing work on an old project, you MUST specify in your Devpost what was worked on 1) before day 3 of Global Hack Week: Share 2022 and 2) during day 3 of Global Hack Week: Share 2022.

We all have pieces of tech that we’re intimidated to try out. It might be open source, blockchain, cryptology, artificial intelligence…the list goes on and on for me! The best way to conquer this fear is by trial and error. Attempt to use any technology that you’ve always wanted to but have been too scared to and tell us about what you learned on Devpost.

Calling all artists and designers! For this challenge, we want you to imagine a fictional company and create a branding concept for it. You can make this as detailed or simple as you’d like. You could make logos, flyers, a website mockup, social posts, or anything else you need your fictional company might use! Submit your work on our Week-Long Devpost!
